Chassis Dynamometer VULCAN

HORIBA continues to accumulate substantial knowledge in designing and manufacturing high-quality chassis dynamometers for the automotive industry in compliance with existing and forthcoming emission standards. Continuous optimization and improvement of the tried-and-tested design have led to the latest generation of VULCAN dynamometers. While creating this new range of chassis dynamometers, the HORIBA team reexamined fundamental design elements that are crucial to the performande demanded by our users. The digital force and speed measurement designs are characterized by their high accuracy and repeatability. Automated quality checks and product diagnostics additionally contribute to the performance of the overall system. To advance the quality of the measurement results, HORIBA has improved calibration and measurement accuracy as well as the roller dimensions, enabling it to comply with current and future vehicle demands. A standard calibration device using a two arm design for full force calibration through the zero point assures easy and reliable calibration.

GIANT Evo NVH

GIANT Evo NVH

The GIANT Evo Performance is the most compact inertia dynamometer within the GIANT family. It is designed for basic investigations and performance tests of brake systems. It is used to test a variety of vehicle brakes and assemblies. This includes disc and drum brakes of small to medium cars as well as brake systems for larger limousines to medium-sized SUVs. Test brakes can be mounted to the dynamometer using the traditional adaptation with disc and calliper on tailstock as well as modern adaptations with original steering knuckle and wheel bearing. A standardized HORIBA machine knuckle including wheel bearing is also possible. Due to the accurate inertia simulation and the precise actuation of the controller, brake systems can be tested under realistic conditions. Depending on the customers’ requirements, the functionality of the GIANT Evo Performance can be extended with many options.

ADS-7000

ADS-7000

Automatically operates a vehicle on a chassis dynamometer, using highly accurate servo tracking characteristics. Repeatability and accuracy exceed capabilities of the most experienced human drivers. Sophisticated "learning function" automatically determines the positional relationship between each actuator and the vehicle. Once data is stored, vehicles of the same model can be tested without performing the learning function. Easy to install and operate, ADS 7000 includes a mechanical unit, control system, and remote controller. Actuators in the mechanical unit control the throttle, brake, clutch, gearshift, and ignition key.
